The Jaap Family

I have some exciting news to share with all of you!  Due to recent communication between myself and the Jaap family, this summer as a part of our Tour I will be meeting the recipient of my daughter's heart - a now 11-yr old boy named Dillon, at an event hosted by Donate Life CO (Donor Alliance).

Born with a heart defect, Dillon was just 2 years old at the time of his transplant.  The operation was a complete success and although Dillon is on medication and sees his doctor regularly, his father Brandon and mother Laura say that today there is nothing he can't do.  He goes hiking, plays soccer and has participated in the Transplant Games.  He also makes his own movies and is VERY creative!  It's such a blessing to be able to get to know more about this wonderful family and we look forward to meeting with them face to face this June.

Here is a picture of Dillon with his Mom, brother, and sister:

Dillon is the one in the back.

  1. That is very cool Jen, its sad at the same time but knowing is very cool

  2. Thanks Angie. We think so too. Organ Donation is an incredible thing. Truly, it's the most spiritually sad/beautiful thing I've ever been a part of.
