Live TV

During our week long stay in Denver we volunteered to do a live call-in TV show that was on ABC.  We talked to many callers who had questions about organ donation or about the upcoming Donor Dash - a 5K run to raise awareness, honor donor and recipient families, and to remember those who are still on the LONG waiting list for a life-saving organ.  The phone calls we received were quite interesting.  Many had questions about their ability to be donors.  They feared they were too old, or too sick and it was nice to be able to give them good news and to assure them they could still sign up to donate no matter what their status.  NEVER disqualify yourselves people!!  Let the medical professionals determine what is of use.  Someone will thank you!

They gave us packets of information about donation.  When the phone rang for the first time though I didn't know how to answer!  They didn't tell us that!  That got us laughing and being silly.

Jen Moe did a great job of pulling this together.  She even hooked us up with cool Volunteer shirts.
Here's the whole gang.
They did the live news show right there in the studio we were in.  Interesting to watch.
They had a studio dog.  :)
My Dad got to take a sneak peek behind the scenes.  Jen Moe told me my Dad was cute!  And then said I look just like him.  Snicker.
An excellent experience where many people were helped in a short time.  It was wonderful to be a part of that, and we left there feeling really good about participating and looking forward to the Donor Dash on the morning of the 18th of July.
